A mental health nurse who assaulted a woman as he struggled with alcoholism has been censured, had his registration suspended for six months and ordered to work under supervision for 18 months.

A shortage of nurses is not a new occurrence. However, as cited in the March 20 editorial "Calling for nurses," what makes this shortage different is the interaction of several contributing factors.
