I called the company and told them that there were cracks in the particle board all over and they said they would send replacement parts. This is unreasonable. I would not have bought this bed had I known it was made so poorly. Ikea has nicer beds at a similar price. Handy Living Wood Slat Bed Frame (Kitchen) Did you read the title of my review? If so good, because seriously, a hammer will not do. You'll NEED a mallet. That said,...assembly time (1 person) is about 90 mins. Less than 60 mins if you have an electric screwdriver with hex bit attachments. There are not a lot of different pieces used to put this together, so it's pretty straight-forward. As far as the design goes - pretty solid. This an Ikea'ish design and I like it. It's very sturdy and simple to put together. Once you DO put it together, I doubt you can take it apart - the plastic holders for the slats look like they're meant to stay in,...forever. You can easily get to the legs and remove those if your moving, but just so you know, okay? Are we cool? Yes? No? Anywayz, I'd say for the money it's a good buy. No box springs necessary since the wood slats bow upward providing that needed "cush". Thumbs up, yo! .

I wanted to eliminate the box spring on my bed and obtain some under bed storage for the personal things cluttering the room that didn't necessarily appeal to my wife. This frame did it, modularity made it easy (read light enough to get upstairs) and assembled it in about twenty minutes. Tri-fold Hardwood Futon Frame - Twin Size Very sturdy wood provided, and precisely cut. So far it's alot better looking than the metal futon chair i had before this. It was always clanking and creaking. The wood construction makes this one quiet. One thing they could add are felt pads to go on the legs and the back. I cut out some pieces because the wood is leaving scratches/dents in my vinyl tiles and the back edges are scraping the paint off my wall.
