Nomad Solid Hardwood Platform Bed Frame - Queen Size I bought this because the other reviews said it wasn't splintery. They're right... for a good cheap platform frame, it's pretty solid. It's quite high off the floor, which is great for storing stuff under it, but is a little odd for something that's futonic. It's easy to put together, and the advice to tighten the screws again after the first few weeks is good advice. I've un-assembled this and re-assembled it, and it's still solid. This is a good buy. Full Size Wood Box Foundation for memory foam, latex, and air mattresses I bought this foundation to replace an aging foundation that had stared sagging and creaking when weight was put on it. I live one state over from the distributor, so I received it the day after it shipped, less than a week after ordering. It comes in a tall (about 6.5 ft) box that weighs about 55 lbs, so while it's a little awkward, one person can move it. The outer wood box pieces are partially assembled, so that you only have to join the head and foot pieces to the side and middle pieces with dowels (already in place) and bolts. One person can assemble this with little difficulty. The top slats, which are spaced and held to each other with canvas ribbon, are rolled out on top of the assembled box and fastened with six screws. The foundation comes with all hardware necessary for assembly. The package also includes an appropriately sized wrench, though a ratchet with a 1/2 bolt will speed up assembly. The six screws that hold the top slats to the foundation box secure three of the slats, but if like me you don't want the rest of the slats loose, you can secure them to the box with double-sided mounting tape (the kind with padding between the adhesive layers). The cover is a custom-sized ticking that slips over the top side of the box and tightens with a drawstring with a plastic locking ball, like you'd find on a laundry bag. Overall, easy assembly, the quality is comparable to the old box foundation I had (which lasted nine years), and now my bed doesn't screech when I get in it. Just what I had in mind. .

South Shore Furniture, Prairie Collection, Twin Mates Bed 39", Country Pine (Baby Product) I was shopping around looking for a new bed for my 15 year old son. He has had a raised steel platform bed for years. Getting hard for him to climb the ladder up onto it. I ran across this bed on many different websites including Walmart. Prices were all about the same even with free shipping to the store if bought from Walmart. However, with Free Super Saver Shipping from Amazon, it shipped free to my front door. I didn't have to go get it from a store anywhere. It came in just over a week which was fine with me. As for the puting it together, it took a couple hours total, but my 15 year old did most of the work himself. He just needed help in a few areas tightening the screws in some cramped spaces and holding things together. All in all he loves his new bed, and that is what I was really hoping for. .
