Alberta will be fast-tracking international recruits, launching an aggressive cross-Canada campaign to recruit locally trained but departed nurses, and retraining those who have left the profession, all in an effort to improve a nursing shortage that has closed operating rooms in Edmonton and left people with broken bones waiting for care.
