It’s wrenching to admit that anything having to do with Walter Reed Army Medical Center is a national disgrace. That wounded military personnel being treated there were forced to live in deplorable conditions dishonors the name of the facility. It does a disservice to the memory of Dr. Walter Reed, the famed Army physician. The disservice extends to the multitude of physicians, nurses, therapists and others on the staff who have served with utmost dedication and compassion to treat bodies and minds damaged by warfare.
